LA CONTAMINACIÓN Y SUS EFECTOS EN LA BAHÍA DE CARTAGENA INDIAS, COLOMBIA.

La bahía de Cartagena de Indias se localiza en la parte central del caribe colombiano, su superficie es aproximadamente 85 Km2 y tiene una profundidad de 26 m.

Esta funciona como un estuario gracias al aporte de agua dulce que representa el canal del dique, el cual es un brazo artificial del río Magdalena, principal afluente vial de Colombia.

Dicha bahía se encuentra altamente contaminada, sus aguas están siendo afectadas por cuatro fuentes de polución a saber: vertimiento de aguas negras provenientes del alcantarillado de la ciudad de Cartagena de Indias, aportes de sedimentos por parte del canal del dique, vertimiento de residuos industriales y derrames de residuos petrolíferos provenientes de buques y muelles de la zona industrial de Mamonal, una de las más importantes del país.

La bahía de Cartagena recibe aproximadamente el 90% de los deshechos industriales y domésticos que se generan a lo largo de toda la línea costera.

Las aguas negras provenientes de la ciudad de Cartagena (1.500.000 habitantes) alcanzan un volumen de 120.000 m3 al día, el 60% de este volumen es descargado en la ciénaga de la Virgen, mientras que un 40% llega a la bahía.

Los deshechos provenientes de la ciudad representan un aporte de materia orgánica rica en nitrógeno (20.7 toneladas diarias ) y fósforo (15.1 toneladas diarias).

Por otra parte de 620 industrias localizadas en la zona costera 29 de ellas producen residuos líquidos altamente tóxicos y cancerigenos, como el MVC o cloruro de vinilo, los cuales son depositados en la bahía, dichos residuos son ricos en nutrientes, aceites, residuos petrolíferos y fenoles entre otros, estos contaminantes provocan mortandades de peces y el típico mal olor de los caños cartageneros.

El aporte de nutrientes provenientes de la actividad humana han llevado a la bahía de Cartagena a un proceso de eutroficación, es decir el agua presenta niveles elevados de nutrientes, la consecuencia de esto es un crecimiento exagerado de las comunidades de macrófitas y organismos planctónicos.

En particular los organismos planctónicos mueren rápidamente y sus restos se depositan en el fondo de la bahía, esto ocasiona la presencia de gran cantidad de materia orgánica, la cual empieza a oxidarse causando condiciones anóxicas en los niveles más profundos de la bahía (aproximadamente después de 8m de profundidad).

Las condiciones de anoxia provocan una reducción en la biodiversidad de especies en la bahía y la proliferación de formas de vida bacterianas.

Los deshechos provenientes de industrias en particular los metales pesados, los hidrocarburos y pesticidas son susceptibles de acumularse en los tejidos de especies con valor comercial como son peces y bivalvos, representando un riesgo para la salud pública de los habitantes de Cartagena de Indias, Marialabaja, Turbaco y el archipielago de las islas del Rosario.

De igual forma representa un riesgo la contaminación bacteriana, generada por las aguas negras de la ciudad, esta ha llevado a la presencia de niveles no permisibles de bacterias patógenas (coliformes), en zonas turísticas como Castillo Grande y El Laguito fundamentalmente en época de invierno, es decir en los meses de abril y octubre.

La contaminación en la bahía de Cartagena afecta tanto la vida que al interior de esta se desarrolla, como la salud humana, por lo cual es urgente un trabajo interdisciplinario en colaboración con la comunidad que permita diseñar obras de inversión y acciones legales que generen una reducción sustancial en el aporte de contaminantes a este cuerpo de agua.

Nota:
En la región del catatumbo en el año 2007 se produjo un derrame de miles de barriles de petróleo, que contaminaron la fuente de agua que alimenta el acueducto de la ciudad de San José de Cucutá, informó el alcade de dicha ciudad.

EFECTOS DE LOS DERRAMES DE PETRÓLEO EN ECOSISTEMAS DE AGUADULCE Y MARINA.

Los ecosistemas acuáticos son muy susceptibles de ser alterados por la actividad humana debido a que son el punto de llegada de contaminantes aéreos y terrestres generados cientos de kilómetros atrás, esto fundamentalmente porque las aguas reciben el aporte de materiales provenientes de las lluvias y del suelo, a través del lavado que sobre este ejercen los ríos.

En Colombia la contaminación de los cuerpos de agua a causa de los derrames de petróleo es preocupante, en el año de 1999 las explosiones causadas en el oleoducto Caño Limón Coveñas generaron el derrame de 20.000 barriles de petróleo.

Entre Julio y Septiembre del 2000 los derrames llegaron a 150.000 barriles de crudo.

El primer efecto que surte un derrame de petróleo en ecosistemas dulceacuícolas, es una reducción sustancial de la concentración de oxígeno disuelto en las aguas, principalmente porque la película de crudo reduce la difusión del oxígeno de la atmósfera a la columna de agua, de igual forma impide el paso de la luz reduciendo el aporte de oxígeno generado por los procesos fotosintéticos.

Por otra parte el crudo como cualquier compuesto orgánico requiere del oxígeno para su degradación.

La reducción de la concentración de oxígeno disuelto en los cuerpos de agua trae como consecuencia la muerte masiva de organismos vivos en especial de la fauna íctica.

Las muertes masivas de peces se presentan debido a que el crudo genera el taponamiento de la superficie de las branquias, en condiciones de contaminación extrema el mucus secretado por los peces es insuficiente para aislar las branquias de los peces y en consecuencia se produce su muerte por asfixia.

Los peces que logran sobrevivir a los efectos inmediatos del crudo, al ingerir los hidrocarburos pueden sufrir modificaciones en su metabolismo y alteraciones genéticas en el desarrollo de huevos y larvas.

En el caso de ríos turbulentos, como es el caso del Catatumbo, estos efectos pueden verse minimizados, por la constante reoxigenación del sistema, así como el rápido arrastre del crudo vertido.

En casos particulares se ha observado en los peces acumulación de hidrocarburos en sus tejidos y la persistencia del crudo en el ecosistema adsorbido a los sedimentos.

En ecosistemas marinos los efectos de los derrames de crudo son mejor conocidos, por ejemplos, dos de las comunidades más afectadas son los arrecifes coralinos y los bosques de manglar.

En el caso de los arrecifes coralinos, la precipitación de los hidrocarburos genera el ahogamiento de los pólipos madrepóricos, a largo plazo se observa una reducción en la cobertura de corales al igual que una reducción en el crecimiento corporal de aquellos que se implantan en las zonas en las cuales se ha derramado crudo.

De igual manera se observa una baja viabilidad de las larvas y procesos de bioacumulación.

El bosque de manglar se ve seriamente afectado por un derrame de petróleo, aún bajas cantidades de hidrocarburo, generan una mortalidad masiva de los árboles, pérdida de las hojas en otros, deformación y mortalidad de las semillas, a largo plazo se produce un retardo en el crecimiento.

La fauna asociada al manglar se ve considerablemente afectada se han observado muertes masivas de la ostra Crassostrea rizophorae, el mejillón Mytilopsis dominguensis y el cirrípedo Balanus sp.

Los efectos de los derrames de crudo son devastadores tanto para las comunidades dulceacuícolas como marinas, por otra parte los efectos de este tipo de contaminante pueden prolongarse por largos periodos de tiempo inclusive cientos de miles de años, esto hace necesario la implementación de una política internacional que permita el desarrollo de planes de contingencia eficaces que mitiguen los efectos de este polutante sobre los ecosistemas.

SOLUTIONS TO THE OIL SLICK IN THE GULF OF MEXICO.
CONTAMINATED MARINE WATER TREATMENT WITH CRUDE PETROLEUM.

The following chemical processes can be used to decontaminate the marine water:

1-Separation of the marine water and the crude one by means of:

1.1--Process of compression by steam forced circulation in a stripping column.

1.2--Process of distillation of long tube multieffect.

1.3-Absorption of the crude one by means of the use of hydroxides of magnesium, sodium or potassium.

2-Elimination of crude biochemically.

This procedure can be made in situ in boats of great scale near the coast of Freeport, Lousiana, the USA or in the open sea far from the coast.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESS.

The mixed marine water with the crude one sucks by means of a pump and unloading in the top of a stripping column in which aqueous vapour in crosscurrent circulates.

The aqueous vapour undresses of crude to the gaseous components the methane, etano and propane which leave by the top of the column in company of the steam and feed a condenser on where they are transport to a distillation column where these substances of the aqueous vapour thanks to their difference of volatileness separate.

The gases of these hydrocarbons leave by the top, they are condensed and they are transport to spherical tanks within the ship or in earth.

By the bottom the desalinated water is recirculated to the boiler that evaporates the water used in the stripping column .

The bottom of the column they leave crude heavier (than it contains paraffins, olefins, aromatic and asphalts) and the concentrated salt, which separates by means of filtration forced in filters presses.

The crude one recovered its transport to storage caves in the ship to have recirculated to the boiler partly and the rest to be taken to earth to its refinement.

The concentrated salt humid is dried in rotatory earth furnaces and later it is used to repair to the beaches and contaminated shores of the seas and rivers.

In open sea and near beaches the metallic sodium hydroxides can be used, magnesium and potassium to absorb and to decontaminate the marine water.

The residues of the formed precipitates can retire more easily by cleaning ships.

The use of bacteria that degrade the crude one quickly is an alternative that has been effective in previous spills and that can help to decontaminate the water of a easy and biological way.

The previous methods are expensive but not as much as the very serious damage that this being caused to the planet and that it has caused that the global heating has gone off and the climatic change has begun to make damage in north, center and the south America.

All I propose scientific solutions can work effectively to mitigate the serious damage caused to the biomass and biodiversity of the planet, but if not remove the oil spill by installing a valve plug or through a tube seal explotation by implosion , will continue this disastrous environmental situation indefinitely.

The answer to the question of the million dollars:

How to cool the planet Earth and to save it of the ominous effects of the global heating?

It is not so easy although in a few last decades, a handful of scientists had come realising concerted efforts to fight the global heating, like for example, to devise a system of solar baffle plates around the Earth orbit to cool the planet.

Other ideas, almost of science fiction are those to dissipate clouds to obtain a greater reflection of the solar energy towards the space and the one to install devices like drains of gases and heat traps in the oceans and seas of the world.

All the previous one has not been viable partly by the policies of the governments of the industrialized countries more like the USA, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, among others nations of the G-20.

In any case, the preoccupation of the scientists, is latent, since possibly the planet could require of a high dose of emergency cooling.

Some organisms like NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCIES of Washington, the University of Arizona, the Max Planck Institute of Germany (including the Nobel prize of chemistry of 1995 Paul J. Crutzen), the Climate Institute in the USA, the Council of scientific Society of the University of Columbia, the protocol of Kyoto signed by the USA, China, and India jointly with the NASA, has sent as surprising theories as those to inject sulphur dioxide in the stratosphere and the installation of great white plastic islands to reflect a greater amount of energy than surpasses 25% that at the moment in the 2010 is reflected to the space.

SALVEMOS EL PLANETA TIERRA DEL CALENTAMIENTO GLOBAL

La respuesta a la pregunta del millón de dólares:

Cómo enfriar el planeta Tierra y salvarlo de los nefastos efectos del calentamiento global?

No es tan fácil aunque en unas pocas décadas pasadas, un manojo de científicos habían venido realizando grandes esfuerzos por combatir el calentamiento global, como por ejemplo, idear un sistema de deflectores solares alrededor de la órbita terrestre para enfriar el planeta.

Otras ideas, casi que de ciencia ficción son las de disipar las nubes para obtener una mayor reflexión de la energía solar hacia el espacio y la de instalar dispositivos como sumideros de gases y trampas de calor en los océanos y mares del mundo.

Todo lo anterior no ha sido viable en parte por las políticas de los gobiernos de los países más industrializados como USA, Japón, Alemania,Francia, Italia, entre otras naciones del G-20.

De todas formas, la preocupación de los científicos, es latente, ya que eventualmente el planeta podría requerir de una alta dosis de enfriamiento de emergencia.

Algunos organismos como la NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCIES de Washington, la Universidad de Arizona, el Max Planck Institute de Alemania (incluido el premio Nobel de química de 1995 Paul J. Crutzen), el Climate Institute en USA, el Council of Scientific Society de la Universidad de Columbia, el prótocolo de Kyoto firmado por USA, China, e India conjuntamente con la NASA, han lanzado teorías tan sorprendentes como las de inyectar dióxido de azufre en la estratosfera y la instalación de grandes islas de plástico blanco para reflejar una mayor cantidad de energía que supere el 25% que actualmente en el 2010 se refleja al espacio.

La cumbre de Copenhagen realizada recientemente en noviembre del 2009, fue meramente política y no se tomaron las decisiones urgentes ecológicas; ya que el asunto de salvar la Tierra del cataclismo es inaplazable y para esto es preciso lograr un enfriamiento rápido del planeta, disminuyendo el consumo de energía eléctrica en un 75%, utilizar el 100% de las energías solar, eólica e hidráulica y ahorrar agua potable al máximo.

Esto no es un tema solamente científico sino político y económico, por cuanto el costo podría alcanzar varios miles de billones de dólares y en estos momentos existen otras prioridades más apremiantes como las hambrunas, la crisis financiera, atender los desastres naturales, etc...es decir, los estragos del mismo cambio climático.

The scientific method almost of science fiction, has been created to develop vaccine synthetic, now, makes lack much more governmental support and prevailed nonsingle of Colombia but of the rest of countries of the world so that their investigations come in a really success!! .. 25 years ago seemed an impossible today is possible... and to think that in 1980 some scientists said that the vaccine against the malaria would be ready for year 2025...

HISTORICAL REVIEW OF A PARADIGM.
MANUEL ELKIN PATARROYO (scientific)

Although in the last years have been several the attempts, the group of the Colombian scientist Manuel Elkín Patarroyo managed to develop the first vaccine against the malaria in January of 1986. Which was donated its patent in 1995 to the OMS World wide Organization of the Health, to assure its use in benefit the humanity and not the one of the pharmaceutical houses or the his own one. Doctor Manuel Elkín Patarroyo has been untiring in the search of definitive solutions for the diseases that specially affect the developing countries. Optimist, a little dreamer and very cultured, Elkín, have put in the pocket to average world, although to another means she bothers to him, today dreams about finding a vaccine for cancér of uterus, VIH AIDS and the tuberculosis. Its interest by the biomedical investigation took to him to leave the European and North American laboratories to found on 1972 the Institute of Inmunology of the Hospital San Juan de Dios and to dedicate themselves almost by 15 years to the search of the vaccine that avoided the death of 1,5 million people to the year. From there, Patarroyo has carried out its investigations, accompanied by a disciplinary group of Colombian scientists, in its majority very young, between whom are doctors, bacteriologists and microbiologists, to which has formed in the investigation. At the moment, it works as much in the improvement of the second generation of the vaccine of the malaria like in vaccines of the tuberculosis and the hepatitis B, diseases that every year end the life of 7 million people in the world. Recognitions it has not needed, although some are past unnoticed in their own country, Manuel Elkín Patarroyo received The Edinburgh Medal - the highest recognition than England grants to a scientist -, the Prize Prince of Asturias and the Roberth Koch Prize, considered by many like the waiting room of the Nóbel, and in spite of this continues being the humble Colombian who dreamed in his adolescence about saving to the world. The Colombian scientist who was born in Ataco (Tolima), the 3 of November of 1947, is doctor immunologist, professor of the National University of Colombia and the Rockefeller universities (New York) and of Stockholm (Sweden), publisher of 3 books, awarded with 3 national prizes of medicine and creditor to the National Prize of Sciences Alexander Angel Field of broom in the years of 1,979, 1,981, 1,984, and 1986; lecturer in more than 100 international symposiums and an endless number of national congresses; author of more than 100 international scientific publications. He could be made much more by the patients... Manuel Elkín Patarroyo in an occasion said that "the pharmaceutical industry does not do everything what could by the AIDS patients, and that only take care to look for treatment methods which they extend the treatment but they do not end the pathology. Everything, by economic reasons ". "Nobody has nor idea of how it is going to be the evolution of the humanity and probably who today are above, tomorrow they can be down. I believe that until by selfishness it is necessary to be shared in common ", pronounced Patarroyo when it was chosen by the Organization Hands Together with in favor of the support projects of development in the needed countries more. Patarroyo comes from a family of 11 brothers, of whom 5 are doctors, a nurse and another psychologist. Their parents were retailers, but always they taught the vocation to them on watch, which has been fulfilled totally since no of their brothers is actually private. Being most anxious of the family, from the 8 years their parents gave him to read books on life of Pasteur and a collection on Greek myths, to which he attributes his two tendencies: the medicine and the philosophy. Elkin has been self-taught. Since was good the first year of his medicine studies worked in virus with one of its mentors in the Rockefeller Foundation, of happened there to Yale. It was never has beeb a great student because he turned aside towards the physiology of the immune system, since it interested to him was chemistry and the inmunology. A form to see the science Married and with three children, their familiar life and its human quality is so own in him as their passion by the investigation. Therefore, it is hardly logical that his family always is around his scientific project and is not a pact because considers that "it is not agreed to on which has been convinced". Elkín Patarroyo is loving of the art, specially of oil painting and it boasts to have one of the best collections of Colombian art, not by the money that wins, but because to his friends painters I can say to them "likes that one", and they do not dare to say to him that no. After the difficulties with the Ministry of Health, with the banks by the embargoes and the be in favor of the lack of interest in the scientific researches, Manuel Elkin Patarroyo left with science`s friends and from the this 7 of some Colombians we will have a new institute of inmunology. The facilities of the missing Institute of Nuclear Subjects, will be the new seat of the Foundation Institute of Inmunology of Colombia, whose opening they attended personalities as chemistry the Nóbel prize Brushes Merryfield, experts in malaria, members of the World-wide Organization of the Health and a representative of Jose Saramago. Patarroyo put its science to the service of the man. Their works will save thousands of lives, and their perseverance and zeal, their shrewdness and scientific excellence, they deserve that it is recognized to him from already like one of the greatest scientists of century XX, and perhaps of century XXI.....

En una conferencia que se realizó en Bogotá, el profesor Manuel Elkín Patarroyo expuso de una manera didáctica y coloquial ante un auditorio colmado en su totalidad, como ha sido el desarrollo de la primera vacuna sintética hecha en el mundo llamada Colombia contra la malaria SF66, la cual ha sido la que más eficacia ha mostrado en combatir esta terrible enfermedad que le arrebata la vida a millones de personas en el mundo anualmente, en América, Asia y África especialmente. En dicha exposición el Doctor Patarroyo explicó como es posible llegar a desarrollar vacunas contra otras enfermedades tales como el cancér de útero, tuberculosis y VIH. El método científico casi de ciencia ficción, ha sido creado para desarrollar vacunas sintéticas, ahora , hace falta mucho más apoyo gubernamental y privado no solo de Colombia sino del resto de países del mundo para que sus investigaciones tengan el éxito que se merecen!!Lo que hace 25 años parecía un imposible hoy es posible...y pensar que en 1980 algunos científicos decían que la vacuna contra la malaria estaría lista para el año 2025...

RESEÑA HISTORICA DE UN PARADIGMA. MANUEL ELKIN PATARROYO (Científico)

Aunque en los últimos años han sido varios los intentos, el grupo del científico colombiano Manuel Elkín Patarroyo logró desarrollar la primera vacuna contra la malaria en enero de 1986. La cual fue donada su patente en 1995 a la OMS Organización Mundial de la Salud, para asegurar su uso en beneficio de la humanidad y no el de las casas farmacéuticas o el suyo propio.
El Doctor Manuel Elkín Patarroyo ha sido incansable en la búsqueda de soluciones definitivas para las enfermedades que afectan especialmente a los países en vías de desarrollo. Optimista, un poco soñador y muy culto, Elkín, se ha metido en el bolsillo a medio mundo, aunque a otro medio le moleste, hoy sueña con encontrar una vacuna para el cancér de útero, VIH sida y la tuberculosis.
Su interés por la investigación biomédica le llevó a abandonar los laboratorios europeos y norteamericanos para fundar en 1972 el Instituto de Inmunología del Hospital San Juan de Dios y dedicarse casi por 15 años a la búsqueda de la vacuna que evitara la muerte de 1.5 millones de personas al año.

Desde allí, Patarroyo ha llevado a cabo sus investigaciones, acompañado de un grupo interdisciplinario de científicos colombianos, en su mayoría muy jóvenes, entre los que se encuentran médicos, bacteriólogos y microbiólogos, a los cuales ha formado en la investigación.

Actualmente, trabaja tanto en la mejora de la segunda generación de la vacuna de la malaria como en las vacunas de la tuberculosis y de la hepatitis B, enfermedades que cada año acaban con la vida de 7 millones de personas en el mundo.
Reconocimientos no le han faltado, aunque algunos hayan pasado desapercibidos en su propio país, Manuel Elkín Patarroyo recibió The Edinburgh Medal - el más alto reconocimiento que Inglaterra concede a un científico-, el Premio Príncipe de Asturias y el Premio Roberth Koch, considerado por muchos como la antesala del Nóbel, y a pesar de esto sigue siendo el humilde colombiano que soñaba en su adolescencia con salvar al mundo.
El científico colombiano que nació en Ataco (Tolima), el 3 de noviembre de 1947, es médico inmunólogo, profesor de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia y de las universidades Rockefeller (New York) y de Estocolmo (Suecia), editor de 3 libros, galardonado con 3 premios nacionales de medicina y acreedor al Premio Nacional de Ciencias Alejandro Ángel Escobar en los años de 1.979, 1.981, 1.984, y 1986; conferencista en más de 100 simposios internacionales y un sinnúmero de congresos nacionales; autor de más de 100 publicaciones científicas internacionales.
Podría hacerse mucho más por los enfermos...
Manuel Elkín Patarroyo en una ocasión dijo que “la industria farmacéutica no hace todo lo que podría por los enfermos de sida, y que sólo se ocupa de buscar métodos de curación que alargan el tratamiento pero no acaban con la patología. Todo, por motivos económicos”.
“Nadie tiene ni idea de cómo va a ser la evolución de la humanidad y probablemente quienes hoy están arriba, mañana pueden estar abajo. Creo que hasta por egoísmo hay que ser solidario”, pronunció Patarroyo cuando fue elegido por la Organización Manos Unidas en favor del apoyo a proyectos de desarrollo en los países más necesitados.
Patarroyo proviene de una familia de 11 hermanos, de los que 5 son médicos, una enfermera y otra psicóloga. Sus padres eran comerciantes, pero siempre les inculcaron la vocación de servicio, lo cual se ha cumplido a cabalidad ya que ninguno de sus hermanos están en la práctica privada. Por ser el más inquieto de la familia, desde los 8 años sus padres le daban a leer libros sobre vida de Pasteur y una colección sobre mitos griegos, a lo que atribuye sus dos tendencias: la medicina y la filosofía.
Elkin ha sido autodidacta y afirma que nunca fue buen alumno.Desde el primer año de su carrera trabajó en virus con uno de sus mentores en la Fundación Rockefeller, de ahí pasó a Yale. Nunca se desvió hacia la fisiología del sistema inmune, ya que le interesaba era la química y la inmunología.
Una forma de ver la ciencia
Casado y con tres hijos, su vida familiar y su calidad humana son tan propios en él como su pasión por la investigación. Por lo tanto, es apenas lógico que su familia siempre esté en torno a su proyecto científico y no es un pacto porque considera que “no se pacta sobre lo que se está convencido”.
Elkín Patarroyo es amante del arte, especialmente de pintura al óleo y se precia de poseer una de las mejores colecciones de arte colombiano, no por el dinero que gana, sino porque a sus amigos pintores les puede decir "me gusta ése", y ellos no se atreven a decirle que no.
Después de las dificultades con el Ministerio de Salud, con los bancos por los embargos y con el Estado por la falta de interés en las investigaciones científicas, Manuel Elkin Patarroyo se salió con la suya y a partir de este 7 de mayo los colombianos tendremos un nuevo instituto de inmunología.
Las instalaciones del desaparecido Instituto de Asuntos Nucleares, será la nueva sede de La Fundación Instituto de Inmunología de Colombia, a cuya apertura asistieron personalidades como el premio Nóbel de química Bruce Merryfield, expertos en malaria, miembros de la Organización Mundial de la Salud y un representante de José Saramago.
Patarroyo puso su ciencia al servicio del hombre. Sus trabajos salvarán miles de vidas, y su perseverancia y ahínco, su perspicacia y excelencia científica, merecen que se le reconozca desde ya como uno de los más grandes científicos del siglo XX, y quizás del siglo XXI.

ENTROPY CAUSE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL MISALIGNMENT

When I being still student of chemical engineering in Bogota, I wrote an article in the section of economy of the newspaper "El Siglo", on the Environmental quality, in where it referred me to the entropy as cause of the environmental misalignment that already was made present in the world due among other factors to the increase of the Terrestrial entropical energy by the illegal use of the nuclear energy (proliferation of the nuclear weapons test), abuse of the power resources derived from petroleum, disturbed industrialization, environmental pollution, toxic contamination with sweepings and remainders, cutting of forests, etc. All this has affected a total misalignment of the weather conditions, inasmuch as the ozone layer has been reduced in such a way that the solar ultra-violet rayses have caused the melting of icebergs in the South Pole with the consequent increase in the level of waters of the Pacific Ocean having brought a greater evaporation, unforeseen cloudiness, storms, rains, floods and avalanches in the American continent. The scenario in the North Pole is not different. For that reason they have been generated so many hurricanes in the 2005 and are foreseen more for this year...... ¿What´s the solution?... to think environmentally and to take care of the planet mainly the natural fresh water sources... that the experts say would exhaust in the 2050......

ENTROPIA CAUSA DEL DESAJUSTE AMBIENTAL

Cuando todavía era aún estudiante de ingeniería química en Bogotá hace pocos años, escribí un artículo en la sección de economía del periódico "El Siglo", sobre La calidad Ambiental y el calentamiento global, en donde me refería a la entropía como causante del desajuste ambiental que ya se hacía presente en el mundo debido entre otros factores al aumento de la energía entropica Terrestre por el uso indebido de la energía nuclear (proliferacíon de ensayos nucleares armamentísticos), abuso de los recursos energéticos derivados del petróleo, industrialización desmesurada, polución ambiental, contaminación con basuras y desechos tóxicos, tala de bosques, etc. Todo esto ha incidido en un desajuste total de las condiciones climaticas, por cuanto la capa de ozono se ha deteriodado de tal manera que los rayos ultravioletas solares han provocado el descongelamiento de icebergs en el polo sur con el consiguiente incremento en el nivel de las aguas del oceano pacífico trayendo una mayor evaporación, nubosidad, tormentas, lluvias inclementes, inundaciones y avalanchas en el continente americano. El panorama en el polo norte no es diferente. De ahí que se hayan generado tantos huracanes en el 2005 y se preveen más para este año......Cúal es la solución?....Pensar ecologicamente y cuidar el planeta sobre todo las fuentes naturales de agua dulce...que dicen los expertos se agotarían en el 2050......
